TC is white crystal , odourless, no absorption to water. m.p. about 90℃, Vapour pressure 1.33×10-3Pa. 20 ℃, The solubility is about 100g / L in methanol, ethanol solvent, and 200g / L in cyclohexane solvent , 1000g / L in acetone, carbon tetrachloride, methyl alcohol solvent . It is stable at natural condition, and easy to decomposed at alkaline condition, no corrosive.

It is low toxic to person and animal. TC acute oral LD50>8000mg/kg(trial mouse), Acute dermal LD50>8000mg/kg, acute absorption LC50>200mg/L(trial mouse), It is no obvious damage for dogs and mouse by feeding everyday with 25mg/kg dosage. For third generation mouse, the dosage is 7mg/kg per one day . Animal trial show no cancer or abnormality transfer . Carp for LC50 is 3.2mg/L (48h), 1.75mg/L (96h). rainbow trout LC50 is 1～9mg/L （96h）. It is low toxic to birds and bees.
