Isatin manual |
 |
The isatin Formula: C8H5NO2, molecular weight: 147.13, used in making dyes and drugs, but also for the cuprous ions, thiols, thiophene, indigo glycosides analysis reagents. Also called indolinone dione; indolone; 2,3 - dihydro-indol-dione; purified isatin.
Isatin red and yellow crystal / orange red monoclinic prisms, bitter taste. Insoluble in water (1.9 g / L, 20 ° C), soluble in ethanol, ether and concentrated alkali solution. 201-204 ℃ sublimation (say 203 to 205 ° C).
Preparation of isatin Source: by the indophenol indigo by oxidation system. Isatin was first isolated by the French chemist Auguste Laurent. In 1878, Adolf von Bayer completed the total synthesis of isatin. In 1880, Bayer developed from o-nitro-cinnamic acid synthesis isatin method. 1883, from o-nitrobenzaldehyde synthetic isatin the Bayer patent applications. Since then, the method for the synthesis of indigo to isatin gradually replace extracted from plants, become the main source of indigo.
Isatin purposes: isatin and its derivatives are used as indigo and related dyes, and certain drugs prepared raw material. With liver toxicity, isatin derivatives are no longer used in the pharmaceutical industry.
Isatin Dosage: 10 minutes after intravenous or intramuscular injection of urine, such as blue or as normal |
